This is a new and scary thing for me, and I feel kind of weird asking for money to support my comics (and, indirectly, The Webcomics Review). Honestly, my only real short-term goal here is just to make more than the Shitty Webcomics guy is making, so that my final victory over my former masters can be complete. Pointless Spite can be a powerful motivator.
“But Daniel, I like you, but I have no money, don’t like you enough to part with my money, or don’t actually like you at all and aren’t sure why I started this sentence with ‘I like you’. Why should I part with my hard-earned dollery-doos?”
To be honest, I don’t have a good answer to that, and I feel kind of scummy asking. So howsabout this: What can I give you that’s sufficiently valuable that you’d pay for? I’ve been thinking about doing 1-on-1 private coaching, editing, and script review, but I don’t know if that’s something people actually want. So if you don’t want to pay me for my dumb ramblings and vaguely coherent comic (and I can’t say I blame you!) let me know what might change your mind, or what I can do better. Now that I’m asking for money, I want to be more accountable to my readers.
Also, isn’t that splash page awesome, especially on this new site where there’s no sidebar compressing it? Full Size here!
